Our February meeting produced 35 in attendance – 4 guests, one being1 first time. 2 new members – member number 52 and 53. 9 guests would qualify for membership if they attend in March.
Not bad for being a cold night. Thanks for those who came.

Since our December meeting we continue to have member’s photos displayed at the library in Stuart, where they will remain until the end of this month and then to be transported back to the members at our March meeting. We had a note from the Collinsville librarian praising our November and December display.

Pending items include the completion of our annual quality control survey on what we, as a club, want to keep and what we would like to change or alter. Results will be discussed at our March meeting. Reminder, we will elect officers for the 3rd year in March.

New Business included a report of Melise having to withdraw as Events Coordinator. The group entertained volunteers to replace her, with Pat Justus “volunteering” to take over. Please give your ideas to her on field trips and special events. An overnight trip to Williamsburg was previously voted by the membership for this spring and will be discussed at future meetings.

So far, 5 members will be going back to Clearwater Beach Florida - leaving May 4th and returning May 12th and would like others to join them. Other drivers can alter this schedule. Low motel rate and plenty to see, do and photograph in the Tampa, St Petersburg and Clearwater area. Contact me for more details. I can be the guide as I retired from working/living in this area.
Reminder that the Martinsville Bulletin has a contest involving photos taken in Martinsville and Henry County within the past year. Check with the newspaper for details.

Ms Frisco of the Patrick County Tourism Division is planning on doing a calendar of beautiful Patrick County and invited our club to submit photos for this project and also asked for a group to sell the calendars. I will be submitting the full rules we must use for this project, but we know they must be first be submitted on a disk and given to Sam Davis in March. More on this next week. Start now and get those photos ready as we must have them next month – we need you. Today’s guests qualify to submit as well as members. Members will be given credit in the calendar.

Alfred “Fergie” Ferguson, our PSA liaison is still in Florida, but wanted to announce an upcoming PSA conference in Tucson, AZ September 2-8. (www.psa-photo.org) He can get good room rates and we need to begin planning early. He will collect one photo per member for judging by another PSA club in March. More on this will be sent before the March meeting. PSA judging would require a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place along with honorable mention – like the county fair judging except requiring more than one judge,

Certain information was shared with the club as Ed Conner had family illness and could not attend this meeting, but offered to be re-scheduled. A gospel sing will be at Reynolds this Sunday (11th) at 3pm.

The club offered our support and prayers to Doug Sharp who is in Iraq and noted his daughter is back in Texas.

Tim Service gave an excellent program on tip for shooting outdoors which included wildlife.

Sammy returned from Florida early and judged the “portraits” competition. Reminder for members winning the January of February club competition to e-mail me photos so I can post on our web-site – www.angelfire.com/film2/homestead

A good time was had by all – please mark your calendar now for our next meeting – March 5th
